Title: Victor Wooten in Alexandria, VA
Post by: funkyjazzjunky on March 05, 2017, 02:24:32 PM
Wooten trio was great on Monday, 27 Feb.  Dennis Chambers was fantastic on drums.

Few pro musicians are as patient and welcoming as is Victor Wooten.  After the performance, he posed, signed autographs, and talked with patrons.  I asked why he used 3 basses and he explained one was a tenor bass, one had MIDI, and the third was his main Yin-Yang bass which he did not want to modify with MIDI.  Although the line was long, he was relaxed and engaging.  A great player and a great person.

Thanks for the report... 8)

I'm hoping they will play one of the small-medium venues down here around Roanoke again this year. Last time they were at the Jefferson Center I had a gig that night and missed it.  :(

Van-Di I have seen Victor several times and as you experienced, he really is just a casual, easy going person that likes to really connect with others.  Two thumbs up for him.

He is indeed a wonderful, down to earth guy.
