The only relief for GAS is FART - Frequent Advanced Retail Therapy........ ::)
Peter (who wishes he didn't have to admit stealing that from another forum)

Shouldn't it be - Frequent Aversion Retail Therapy
-
Unfortunately, that would probably result in a back-up which, if left untreated, could evolve into "CRAAP" - Constant Retail Acquisition At Any Price".
-
This goes way back into the recesses of The Bottom Line in the 90s (where I sincerely believe the term GAS was coined).
Some of the responses:
Problem: GAS = Gear Acquisition Syndrome
Cures: FART = Find a Reliable Technician
POOT = Purchase Only Old Toys
Problem: SAG = Sell Auxiliary Gear or Sell All Gear
Cure: LIFT = Loan it for Thirty-days
Source not clear
If you are unsure whether you can restrain your GAS until then, FART
(Forbear Acquiring Rig Toys).
