I bought this hoping my Starfire would fit in it a few years back. I've used it two or three times for my Modulus, but I have another bag for that. I finally got Cronkhite bag for the Starfire at a much higher price than this fine bag.
The imperfections in the photos are dust.
It's just about as new. No scratches, scuffs or other marks, and it's still pretty stiff (I don't know how much these loosen up over time).
New they are selling for $429: http://www.carryaccess.com/FORMgallery2.htm (http://www.carryaccess.com/FORMgallery2.htm)
$300 plus actual shipping.

Great gig bags and I have three of them now and have recommended them to others. One short scale that is also perfect for solid bodied guitars, one like yours but in brown and another that holds two basses. I've had the one similar to yours for about 4 years now and it hasn't "losened up" yet the padding is still firm and mine has regular use.
Hope you find a new home for it amongst those of use who are not against putting our precious basses in any kind of "soft" case. :-)

they ar indeed perfect. I have a double leather version. Quite heave with 2 alembics ;). but superb secure in the bag..

Still available!

Hi Edwin, not seeing your email address in your profile. Best, Todd

Hm, it's there when I look at it but it's edwin <at> indra <dot> com.

1) Any chance this would fit a 34" Standard Point Series I? (I am thinking probably not...)
2) Do these feature neck support similar to Mono Cases a.k.a. "Headlock⢠neck suspension system" https://monocreators.com/vertigo-electric-bass/ (https://monocreators.com/vertigo-electric-bass/)
(hard to tell from the pics, and the website doesn't mention anything):
3) JazzyVee, did you supply the stunt Alembic on Harvest Leathers web-site? http://www.harvest-guitar.com/en/Buffalo-Nappa-oxid-1.html (http://www.harvest-guitar.com/en/Buffalo-Nappa-oxid-1.html)

1. Probably not, but send me dimensions and I'd be happy to measure it!
2. Not really, it's a different design.
3. I'm curious about that, too!
-
3. Ha no i didn't, I was told that the owner of Harvest has alembic basses when I phoned harvest prior to my order so I presume they are his.
2) The two long scale cases I have do not come with any specific neck support however the short scale case does come with a shaped adjustable neck support pad fixed with velcro.

Looks like it's about an inch and half (or 4 cm) short. My Series I is 49 inches (124.46 cm) headstock-to-point. If your case is the same dimensions as those defined on Harvest Leathers site, then it's just a tad short.
I have a Reunion Blues Gig Bag for my Series I already, but I was thinking the leather would be a nicer option.
-
When I got my series II Europa I ordered a Reunion Blues Gig Bag and it was too way too short.
-
Back in the day (1990), Reunion Blues used to advertise a model specifically for Alembic Series style basses. I remember going into a music store (that is now long gone) with the advertisement and ordering it.
Before that I was hauling around the original ATA road case, which only weighed something like 600 kg. :-)
(sorry for hijacking the sale thread - I'll sit down now)
-
No worries on the hijacking! Maybe the bumps will lead to a sale!
PS. My favorite gig bags, although even more pricey than Harvest, are Glenn Cronkhite's. I don't know if he makes an Alembic sized one, though. Last I heard his arthritis was keeping him from making new designs, but he's got a lot of designs on file. The one he did for my Starfire is just wonderful.
-
I have a Cronkhite for a rather delicate Jumbo-Size Acoustic and I agree: they are wonderful.
I heard (perhaps incorrectly) that no more Cronkhite cases were being manufactured.
-
I have two Reunion Blues bags and my Rogue 5's fit in them just fine. I also have a Fodera with the extended B string headstock which is longer than my Alembics and it fits as well.
-
This is still available. I'd sell it for $275 plus shipping to club members.
-
My Standard point is 49.5 inches long. Will it fit?
-
It just misses by 1.5". Sorry about that.
-
I could still use it. Emailed you just now. Thanks.
-
Nice bag indeed.
-
And sold!
-
Very nice bag, rats missed it!
