Just posted a question on this, then noticed the format I should have used in the subject....oops.
This is a Series 1 showing on the market talks about recent rework, hoping for some insight on that rework and what original specs might have been.

This 'suggests' that the neck was changed to make a scale length change . . . .

Scale length changes are possible, but very VERY rare. This bass was originally short scale. It may have had a replacement neck, but all I can locate is the original index card, so just the original build details, which Paul referenced in the other thread:

top and back: Schedua
body: Mahogany
through-body neck: Maple and Purpleheart, 30.75 short scale
fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl inlays
peghead veneers: Zebrawood
originally made for: Rothchild
birthday: August 9, 1977

Sorry I don't have more details.
