Title: Spyder 4 en route to Bass Central
Post by: mica on January 24, 2017, 03:28:08 PM
We shipped this bass out last week to Bass Central. I don't announce every shipment we make, but this bass looks so cool with the vintage tint on the finish, and the picture of the LEDs on the front of the fingerboard just came out of the camera that way.

Enjoy!

Sweet bass! Awesome shot! Are the Spyder 4's just about sold out?

They are very nearly. I think there's 4 or 5 left in the series. Glad you liked the picture too!

Are those individual tailpiece gold plated?  They don't have the high sheen I'd expect from the gold plated ones I've seen.   I like the finish on those.  A lot.

These are not gold plated. This is our typical "polished brass" finish, where the bridge and nut are smooth, and the tailpiece is "grained" and coated with clear polyester.

Hi Mica.
have you ever done a Spyder or a Dragon wing as a five string?

Love the vintage tint. It's spot-on too... the maple on my '89 Persuader has aged to exactly that shade. :)

I almost went with something like that for the Custom underway... I figure by the time the next guy gets it, it'll be just about right.  ;D

ps - I see what you did there with the blinking lights.  ;D  NICE!

Mica - was that the one on the wall near the couch that I was drooling over last month?   :o

Got myself one with red LEDs in 2015 - awesome instrument!
Now I'm waiting in anticipation for the blue-illuminated Esssence.
After getting used to the Spyder I couldn't resist from ordering a 5-string also to complete my toolset :-)  ;D ;D ;D

Mica.  I have a 4 & 8 String Spyder.  I have opened all the cavities looking for the production numbers to determine which ones they are in their respective runs.  I found no indications.  If I submit serial #'s ( I filled out the warranty sheets and mailed back in) can the production numbers be determined?  I heard indirectly that I have 8-String #02 but no proof.
