Hey all. I'm new here. Been using Alembic electronics for a while; I've had this SF-2 for ~20 years, and the F1-X for 2 or 3 years
(http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u495/bob_ross4/Alembicrig_zpsc61169a0.jpg)
but I've been drooling over Alembic basses since the early 1970s, when I first stumbled over a picture of a Series I in a Musician's Friend (?) catalog. Told my 13-year-old self then that some day I would own one
...and that day may be finally coming up. Patiently looking around for a 32" scale small-body Series I 4-string...or, if my patience wears out, I just may have to order a new one. Now that would be a trip!

Hi Bob, welcome, nice rig! Be patient, the right Alembic bass will show itself, and as you say, resistance will be futile (but fun)! :)

Welcome to the Club, Bob. I'm actually glad this didn't turn out to be a thread about the Borg. ;D
Looks like you're well on the way with that setup... 8)
Keep your eyes on the Swap Shop threads here; as there's some fine basses changing hands regularly, as folks search for 'the one'. Of course, if you don't mind a suspenseful wait, Alembic can certainly build you 'the one'.
Meantime, there's lots to read and learn here in the waiting room, so hang out with us and enjoy.
PS, -I gotta ask- other than namesake, are you any relationship to the painter? I used to love watching that guy...

Welcome to the forum! Nice rig! What kind of speakers are you playing that through?

None whatsoever!

Eden David series: (1) D-210T, (1) D-115, and (1) D-115T ...although both tweeters have been (intentionally) disabled.

You running the crown at a little over 2 ohms? That'll maximize the power output! I have a F2B and SF2. That setup will let you dial up any tone you wish and shake pictures off the wall if you want! :-)

No, they're all 8 ohm cabinets and I have a splitter cable from the F-1X feeding the two (non-bridged) channels of the Crown. So 450 watts into 4 ohms for the two 15" drivers and 275 watts into 8 ohms for the two 10" drivers.
-
Cool! Are you running the highs through the 210 and lows through the 15's or all full range?
-
All full-range.

Welcome Bob! That is a sweet rig!
