Title: [SOLD] Gabon Ebony 32" Scale Custom Bass with 20th Anniversary Electronics
Post by: poor_nigel on December 07, 2016, 08:08:50 AM
I just took another bad hit on my retirement fund.  Welcome to America - OK, let's not get political.  I figure this bass will take some time to sell.  Some know it simply as Monty.  It is one of the most original, unique basses Alembic has made to date.  There are at least three main threads on it, including its Custom Of the Month spread.

Here is another in the Showcase:

And it four-year term in the Factory to Customer Section: Marc's "Simple" Bass:

Ya, this is anything but a simple bass.  Mid-scale that plays as easy as a short scale.  I thought about keeping it for myself, but I have a short-scale coming from the factory soon, so . . .  To understand this bass, please read all there is and ask any questions you might have.  I seriously do not want to sell this.  I figure it may take six months to a year.  I am willing to accept payments.  Once a 10% payment is made, it is locked in and packed up.  That method has always worked well for both me and the buyer on the basses I have used it with.  Comes with standard Alembic case.  If you want a Series sound, just add an SF-2 to it and there you go.  Tentative price is $8,000 shipped.  Please feel free to call Mica and ask her anything on this bass or myself.  It is truly an amazing bass.

From questions asked:  The front LED turns on and off with the side LEDs.  All LEDs are blue.  Also, there is a side LED in the first fret position, which most basses do not have.  There is a master volume control.  There are pages on the club site going over the differences between 20th Anniversary and Signature electronics.  The frets are mandolin frets, not regular jumbos like on most Alembics.  So action is very low without buzz.  It is almost fretless, really.  The bass weighs 10.4 pounds. Except for the four maple lams in the headstock, which are pretty dark for maple, all woods in this bass are either mahogany or Gabon ebony.  The mahogany I believe to be British Honduras mahogany. Mica would know for sure if asked.

I go nutz at Christmas time.  For this month only, price dropped to $7,000 and buyer pays shipping to anywhere he or she may want it shipped.  Come January, off it goes to evil eBay to sit and get ogled by the mob - Humiliations galore!

Is this bass still available?  There hasn't been any updates since last December on it.

Thanks!
