That bass had been up for sale once or twice earlier this year. I don't know if it ever sold or not.

I have bid on it several times, and have never heard back. Not even a counter offer.

I sent questions about the weight, which was listed at 9lbs. Never heard back.

If this truly was a 9 lb, 0 oz 5-string Alembic, then it's a rainbow-hued unicorn.

I finally found the price point. Full price at $4,500. I just decided to pull the trigger, since there was never a response to any messages or offers. It has a good return policy, eBay protection, and not a bad price considering upgrades. Finally got a message from owner, that he was shipping express today. I will see what shows up this weekend. I will post pictures, and weigh it.

Wow. Congratulations!

I'm definitely curious about the actual weight. I'm happy with my current 5 sonically, but I wish it was 1 lb lighter.

Love to hear a clip too, if that's possible.

According to the listing it's 9lbs which is pretty light by alembic standards. I know that buckeye burl is a lightweight wood so maybe that's helped keep the weight down. Great catch tx96059

So much for truth in advertising. It sounds and looks amazing though.

While I am sorry that you did not win the "rainbow-hued unicorn" lottery, it's still a damned fine looking bass.

My 5-string Essence weighs almost exactly what your Europa does. In my case the seller underestimated by about a half a pound.

Enjoy, and thanks for satisfying my curiosity!
