I got this bass that looks like maybe it's been played a few times. Only the metal plates on the back show some scuff marks. Everything else looks close to new. Everything is fully functional. No cracks or any kind of issue like that at all. This is a beauty. Top and Back are flame koa, body is mahogany, neck is maple and purpleheart. Short scale. Mica informed me that a new build of this material would start at over $18k. Oh yeah -- comes with the hard case. Please buy this very expensive gift for yourself (or for whomever) and help my family eat for the next few months. I need the cash. Of course I'll take as many more pics as you want, answer questions, etc...

Please PM me as to what you are looking for in regard to transferring ownership of this instrument (abery001@umn.edu)

Very Nice!! I guess we are all looking for the magic number.

Nice looking bass, what is your asking price?
-
I am entertaining offers. Email me fonky1@steveemmerman.com

Would be great if you'd post a price. Difficult to make an offer when it often is used to leverage higher offers from other interested buyers leading to a pseudo bidding war. Generally speaking, we all would rather be the last offer!

Hello Everyone:
I believe this is the same guy with whom I have previously communicated a few months ago and made a offer for the bass which was turned down. From what I remember he was looking for $6,000 which in spite of it being a very nice specimen, I felt was too high. My offer, if I remember correctly, was $4,500 which I felt was more than fair given that the bass did not come with a DS-5R.

Brian, Your offer sounds about right even if it included the DS-5. Looking at the pics I wonder if it has been refinished?
-
It really looks like it in nice condition, he was just asking too much at this point. From what I remember, the bass did not have an electronics update and was still sitting confortably within its original finish with no checking

great bass!
