Club Member ed_zeppelin spotted that thing a while back. :D
Although the price is a little bit dreamy, that's a fascinating guitar... no doubt there's some very early Alembic DNA in it, just no telling how much. Maybe just the body templates. Check out the continuous wood backplates. And why two mirror-image ones? Is that a 1/4" jack on the back?
Very mysterious... I doubt there's many folks with $175K worth of curiosity, but still... that is a neat guitar. Reading the description, the seller seems convinced it is an Irwin, albeit an uncredited one.

I have this violin that might have been played Stephan Grappelli, hearsay. While it isn't labeled it has a lot in common with a Stradivarius and might even have been made by him. I've played it at some concerts which just adds to the credibility the Mr. Grappelli must have played it once, again hearsay. So for the tidy sum of $1M, "What's that Number 2?", make that $1B it can be yours.
I have always loved the Rick Turner quote in that listing:
"Jerry played it...another "Ah-hem"...yeah, maybe. That assertion and $3.75 gets one a cappuccino!"
Can you still buy a cappuccino for $3.75?
