As a newbie to Alembic basses, I fell in love with this model:

What do you think about this Scorpion bass? :)

Looks like Distillate electronics in that one, but with the neck pickup moved to an alternate location down closer to the bridge.
Cool bass! I believe we've seen that one listed for sale a couple times.

So this looks cool, but I think there is an issue with the electronics. The bass and treble cut and boost switches appear to be sheared off. I would have the new owner send the electronics here for repair and RF upgrade. That way we can fix the switches, test it all out and make sure it works quietly in all playing environments. When we do an upgrade we also change the IS for the quieter low-drain model that's available now (the original low-drain ones were quiet noisy, so these electronics probably have to get the battery changed every month or so). Another thing we do on the upgrade is to increase the maximum available output.

If you click on the shot focused on the controls, it enlarges & you can see that the C/F/B switches aren't sheared off; they's been replaced with plugs. This one definitely ain't factory!

Thank you for your input.
The knobs have been put inside, I was told. I have never seen something like this...
I also found a nice Stanley Clarke model at the Paris Bass Club, which I want to check out. Maybe this might be more up-to-date? :)
