Had certainly hoped to make it through the rest of the year without any more musician deaths. The recent New Yorker article about Leonard provides a nice overview of his life and career. Long but definitely worth reading.

This is very sad.  A great writer, and his voice just kept getting better.

Wow, Sandy Pearlman!  I haven't heard that name in years.  He was a friend of my older brother at SUNY Stony Brook back in 1969 when he managed a local group called "Soft White Underbelly".  They later changed their name to "Blue Oyster Cult".
