AWESOME!!!!!!!! and then some more!
Just the sort of thing I want to get going over here. You are so fortunate to find the right bunch of musicians to make it happen.

Very fortunate indeed Jazzy. Blessed. Thanks!

Craaa-zy skills around this place! Nice playing Brian!

Man, that is an awesome RTF cover! Nice bass too.

Thanks Guys! Fun tightrope walking tunes to play live.
Here are two more from that evening:
(Both filters wide open: https://youtu.be/3tCgtt6NJS0 (https://youtu.be/3tCgtt6NJS0) - LARRY HAS TRAVELED (Cover)...)
and this one which is an original, free jazz tune (both filters closed, except for the head): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6upTvnJBes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6upTvnJBes)

Wow, I really like your original tune, and sound of your bass on that tune! When you say both filters closed except on the head, do you mean both filters on the bass are closed, but the filter on your amp "head" is open to some degree? Also, I see your power amp in the background, but no preamp. Are you using an external preamp or going direct from bass into the power amp? Very nice, thanks!

Thanks RV, that is my keyboardist's tune! The swinging free jazz improv section is just wide open. By head I meant the written structure of the tune, sorry about the confusion. Yes, using a QSC GX7 power amp that the great folks in this forum (Rusty Gibson, Jazzy, and several others turned me onto.) The head/preamp I am using is the Grace Design Felix Edwin turned me onto. I just set it (Felix) and forget it (depending on the room & gig) and use the filters on the bass.
Regarding the filters on the Series 2:
The first zero to 6 seconds in I had the filters on the bass rolled off all the way. The second time we played the same phrase I kicked up the the bridge pickup filter almost all the way to cut through. Then rolled them both off for the walking, free section. At the 4 min mark, at my solo, I opened the bridge filter just a tad. Opened just enough to get that peaked mid freq wha sound to cut through.
Love these basses!

Brian, thanks for the clarification, I should have realized that you meant head of the form. I have the same QSC GX7 amp, I use one or two F-1Xs with it along with my series I. I'll have to check out the Grace Design Felix. Your bass really sounds great!
You really do a nice job manipulating the sound during your playing, these basses really encourage creativity!

Tweaking a Series II mid flow and getting just the sound you want is pretty challenging because small changes of filter and Q can modify your tone significantly. I do find on stage I can't hear those small movements above the band but I know if I move the controls too much I will miss the sound I'm trying to get. I would love to get to play a gig where I can have the filters as wide open as yours sound Brian but more of the music I play requires a more mellow bottom end.

Check this version out too.
