I saw this one on another auction site a couple months ago, then it was gone. It resurfaced today on ebay...
Kinda' unusual Alembic with maybe an interesting story... or at least some connection to John Entwistle. Truth, fantasy, or something in between, it's an unusual bass... a 1983 Persuader 5-string in what looks to be a maple Distillate body, and J-shaped pickups and cone headstock.

Anyone ever seen The Ox play one of these?

Saw that yesterday too. Funny, I didn't even notice the Distillate body until you mentioned it. I seriously doubt it was Entwistle owned. I've never seen him with a 5 string. And it's certainly not the first bass I've seen with his autograph on it. Probably just a fan's bass. And the airline tag is funny - they misspelled both names! An h in Entwistle, and no h in Townshend.

Re-listed on ebay... lower price and no reserve.

They're calling it a Distillate, but I believe it's a 5-string Persuader with JZ activators in a Distillate shape body, with a cone headstock.
*may be getting the cart ahead of the mule here... anybody know when Persuader model was introduced? I'd always assumed it came soon after Spoiler in '82. Maybe this *is* a Distillate with early version of Persuader guts.
Don't know who ordered it thataway or why, but I LIKE IT! ;D
