Anybody ever modded an F-1X so the ON/OFF switch is on the front? That would be advantageous for me if it's easy enough to do...
I swear, somewhere on this board I've seen a picture of either an F-2B or F-1X with a green (or maybe red) rocker switch on the front of the unit in place of the usual LED indicator lamp.
Do-able? Bad idea? I figure someone would've thought of it already...

Pretty sure I've seen that several times....don't know where on here to find it, but pretty sure it's been done.

I had an F1-x several years ago and the Previous owner had moved the switch to the front. Involved drilling a suitable hole. Made life a whole lot easier at our small UK pub gigs where the amp would be right up against the back wall.

Yeah, that's kinda' the spot I'm in too Graeme... I've only got a 3U rack, with a power-amp taking up two spaces and my F-1X filling it out. No big deal, but it'd be much easier to power up the pre-amp from the front just like the power-amp does.
Wondering if anyone has a switch recommendation? Ideally, one that's illuminated.

Another option would be to leave the F-1X stock get a 4U rack and add a power strip that has an on/off switch on the front so you can leave the pre- and power-amp switches in the on position. I am reluctant to drill or poke extra holes in anything whenever it can be avoided.

I leave everything switched on in my rack except the power amp which has a front switch. I have a power rail at the back with an illuminated switch that controls the power to the whole rack. I've never needed to switch off the F1-x individually.
