This is my Mark King Alembic bass, I have owned it from new (1999) and it is in as new condition. Comes with the original case.
Californian walnut top.
Looking for £3000.
Also signed by Mark King on the electronics cover.
Will ship at buyers expense, good time to buy given the weak pound, making this bass $4000 plus shipping and insurance (based on current exchange rate, maybe subject to change), can arrange the shipping & insurance but buyer must pay cost.
Cheers All,
Rob

Hi Rob,
I feel your pain. My custom built Triple Omega - which I'd waited over 20 years to be able to afford - eventually had to go due to back and shoulder issues. I always play seated now, but the Triple O wasn't comfortable played seated either due to the side omega cutouts. I had wondered about the feasibility of a Standard body shape, and yours is gorgeous; love that grafted walnut. Very tempting, although I'm supposed to be buying a 6 string guitar. Just out of interest, how heavy is it?

Hi Bill,
Sorry been on holiday and have only just picked this message up. Will get her on the scales and let you know.

Thanks Rob; hope you had a nice holiday.
With regards to weight, I suspect my main problem, based on memories of my Triple O, would be carrying the bass round.....
-
You can always get someone to carry it for you, or a really good gig bag might help as the hard cases are as heavy as.

They certainly are! Size was always a problem as well; my old case wouldn't fit in my friend's car, and I don't drive. I always wondered if Hiscox did a case that would fit these.
-
I think there has been a few conversations on the forum about the pros and cons of using a gig bag with a bass that has the point or omega tips as a vertical drop onto that part are would be pretty serious.
-
That's why I mentioned a Hiscox case, which isn't much/any heavier than a decent gig bag anyway.
I used to have a Jaydee that came with a great moulded case, it balanced perfectly when carrying.
-
i'm not sure myself if Hiscox would do one that would fit, but I dont mind asking. Will let you know if they get back to me.
-
That'd be cool Rob, although the last time I asked them about whether they had a case to fit a Rick they had no idea! ;)
BTW, did you manage to weigh the bass?
