Typical US values for a Spoiler of that vintage are around $1000 US.  They would never sell for under $800, and very rarely over $1200.  If you are in France, then the prices do tend to be higher.  Instruments that I have seen cross the Atlantic have sold for a little bit more in Euros than what we pay in dollars.  I would defer to our European members to provide a more accurate picture of instrument values in the EU.

This is a tough question. Used Alembics don't show often on the used market here in Europe. As far as I remember were Alembics about 1.200 Euro on German Ebay the last few months. But these were Elan or Epic or Essence models (can't remember exactly). May be you can ask the German distributor http://www.station-music.de (http://www.station-music.de) for an estimated price.

A bient?t

Paul le mauvais

Can you imagine ...a bunch of dutch, american and belgian dudes helping a french out of his problems. I think the world would be a better place with MORE Alembics ...so start breeding there in Santa Rosa ...we need some in Iracq.

Welcome Had.  Nice bass, I like it!

I speak zero French, but am quite glad that others on here do.  Maybe if there are more posts in other languages than English, I will be forced to pick some up.  That would be a good thing.  Maybe I can learn enough to get in trouble in a bar or something . . .

Welcome Had. Congratulations on the acquisition of your Alembic. Did anyone mention pictures? We would like to see your Zebrawood beauty.

Right on, brother Paul!! I think you may have put your finger on a solution to problems and misunderstandings in the world. Alembicise the Planet! . . .  At the very least, we can let music, art and poetry bring us a little closer together.

Had,

In linear time, my musical experience increases, as my memory of what I played diminishes!

Had,

Welcome some more.

Not to worry, my Skylark's pickups don't have Alembic imprinted on them, at first I was a little disappointed, but now, I feel as though they're just that much rarer.  After all, it's about the sound, and nothing sounds like an Alembic except another Alembic.
