I tried out a set of TI flats, played them for about ten minutes, they don't have enough tension for my liking. They are brand new minus ten minutes. If anyone would like them send me an email and I'll mail them to you.

...they were originally long scale and I cut them to fit my medium scale standard point four string bass.

These strings are no longer available.

The strings arrived today, Rob. Now I just need to figure out which Alembic to put them on. I think they will go on my Series 1 since you said you used the strings on your medium scale Standard Point bass.
Thanks again!

Hi Rob,
Glad they arrived. Yes, I had them on my medium scale bass. Hope they work out...jam on!

Can we get a report on how they turn out? I have a set on the fretless neck of my doubleneck and they are pretty cool.

I put the TIs on my Series 1 last night, and they sound and feel great! I actually used to have those strings on my bass, but then I switched over to Chromes. When I first got my Series 1, I experimented with many different strings to find the sound and feel I was looking for. I like the low tension of the TIs. For the music I play, flats work best for me on all of my Alembics. Guess it's my Phil Lesh influence coming through. Can't wait to play a gig with these strings.
