Just bought the March BASS PLAYER. I couldn't resist.. There's a fairly well-known guy holding a GORGEOUS SC with Series electronics....
Seriously, I liked the article, glad he's back with an album after his scoring work. I wonder if he ever reads this forum?

Hey Brother Joey,
I followed your lead and jumped in the article on line.
What can I say?
The only CD I have from him is If this bass could only Talk.
Reading the article I remembered why I quitted buying Bassplayer: it makes me so depressed. There is still so much to learn, so much to do and there is so little time.
***sigh***
But (hi again) I'm glad he is back lItterlly and figurally on the front.
Paul
PS: I don't think he is very much in visiting websites.

Hey guys,
Stanley has his own site and you can talk to him there in his forum. http://www.stanleyclarke.com (http://www.stanleyclarke.com)
Paul, hang in there brother!!! That's the beauty of playing music...because there is so much to learn!!! Take it one day at a time and if you can learn just one thing, no matter how small it is, on a daily basis, then you've gotten betteer than the day before.
Peace,
Dino

Stanley is also touring. I'll see him in Ferndale (Detroit area) Michigan on April 8th and maybe Buffalo on April 12th.

That issue of BP is siting on the coffee table in front of me right now...I used to get depressed listening to Jaco, Stanley, Victor, Marcus et al because I don't play like any of them. But, above all, I want playing to be fun. I can be depressed about Iraq, but music is an emotional refuge of sorts for me.
I feel much better about playing when I view it as an end unto itself. I try to feel good about what I can play, and to play what I enjoy playing rather than what is difficult to play but not necessarily my favorite stuff to play.
Peace to all,
Joe

Special thanks to Brother Joe and Brother Dino ( Paul -the fake one) for cheering me up.
I needed that!

I have always viewed amazing players in to ways. When I was very new at it I felt great that I could play like Gene Simmons wow I just started and I can play these tunes! That was a real boost to the young ego. Then my brother who hung out with Al DiMeola brought in a promotional copy of Romantic Warrior. It totally knocked me on my ass! After I sat in amazement and misery, I got up off my ass and became inspired. Since that time I was in love with the Alembic sound and the artists that used them. As I'm typing this, I'm playing my walnut spoiler 6 and loving every toneful note. Even the clams are sweet!

Can I see a picture of that Spoiler 6?
Thanks,
Earl
