Title: About our club
Post by: David Houck on June 08, 2005, 12:16:45 PM
I thought some of you might find the following stats concerning our group of some interest.  I find them interesting, but then I guess I'm easily entertained .

Total members w/ at least one post: 896
Members w/ 25 or more posts: 201
Members w/ 50 or more posts: 130
Members w/ 100 or more posts: 78
Members posting in the last 10 days: 107
Members posting in the last 30 days: 187
Members posting in the last 90 days: 283

Additionally, Mica has informed me that the total number of members including those who have never posted is:  1,314

Note that members who may have had to reregister will have been counted more than once.

Also note that I am limited to post totals and last post dates; thus for instance I don't have any way of sorting by country or age.  However I was able to ascertain that pretty much everybody that's posted has above average intelligence!

I chose these numbers because I think they give us an idea of the size of our group at a point in time; the number of regular members and new members one might expect to find in a given time period.  The size of our community.

Really? What a relief...

I'm just glad you don't have a value add filter...that would probably knock my count of 200+ down to about three....if I'm lucky.

Well now that there's a suck knob the value add filter can't be far behind.

So how many members have more than 2000 posts? Can't be just Paul surely?
Whatever the numbers, I'm sure we'll all agree that this is one of the nicest and most informative groups on the web. One of these days the kids will leave home and I'll be able to afford to visit Y'all.

Mica & Paul are the only 2000 post members I can think of.  Dave's not that far from it though.
Thanks for sharing the stats, Dave.  It's odd that 418 people would register as members and never post.
Graeme, keep an eye on the weather before visiting the southeast US.  Hurricane season just started and there is already activity in the Caribbean.

I've always been curious about those numbers. It was interesting to see them. Still curious about how many members w/ 200, 300, etc. posts. I suspect the numbers get thinner the higher we go. Very interesting all the same....

Speaking of Paul. Did ya'll ever come up with a new designation for the 2000 club? He deserves something for this major milestone. :-)

I was hoping that the club membership would get to vote on what the 2000+ status would be called.  I'm just too much of a Democrat, I guess.

From what I can gather from my research on the issue, an additional status can not be added; we are already using all six that the program makes available.

Well . . . to quote my brother-in-law,  . . he's educated above and beyond his intelligence.

I can't believe I've thought of that much to say, but it'll go to show you what happens when you're caught between Paul and Bob . . .

I guess I've always been thrilled to be included here in this Mt. Olympus of bass.
