Title: Bob Weir's Tele - Something interesting
Post by: bassman10096 on July 26, 2005, 02:01:08 PM
For those who pay attention to the Dead, some of you may have noticed since the reunion that Bobby often plays a Tele for parts of some shows.  If you already know the story behind that Telecaster (or have read the link below) - stop reading here.  If you don't, you might find the story at the following link interesting.  I ran across it last night.  The story of how Bobby came to play that Tele told me some things I didn't know and seemed kind of touching.

Brother Bill,

great story ...didn't know it. True and essential reading about life I should say.

The story leaves out one very interesting fact.  The Tele is a '56!  Here's another story about it from last year's S.F. Chronicle.  (I remembered reading this in the back of my head, did a search and found it right away.  Ain't the internet amazing for some things?)

here (http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM05/Content/Ibanez/PR/BWM1BS.html)  is something that's not as poetic, but very interesting when it comes to Bob's guitars.
