When I first wanted to learn to play bass my bass player roommate at the time helped me pick out an instrument. I was so green I didn't want a Jazz Bass because I didn't want to play jazz. That first bass was a black Guild B-302. I only had it a few months when employment problems required I sell it for a car payment. This was in 1982 or maybe 1983. It's only been in the last three years that I started up again and I've never forgotten that first love. Well finally I found one that the seller wanted a reasonable price for. I'm delighted, my wife is delighted, and the music shop is delighted. Here she is...

Sam, that's wonderful. I think all of us who have been around for awhile have one that we wish we could find some day. Hope you are enjoying it.

Sam,
Nice. It's always a treat to revisit your roots, isn't it..

Hi Sam,
I never played the bass but I read a good review of it in a Dutch music magazine.
It was highly appreciated by the test-group!
Nice catch!
Especially when OLd dreams come true!

Paul, you'll be pleased to know that buying this bass is likely to finally get my lazy butt on stage. The owners of the music shop also own the bar where I can be found. As I was playing it in the store they kept telling me to get up on stage on open mic night. She even told the bartender and sound guy (an excellent bassplayer BTW) that I would be playing. I contacted a drummer friend who in turn is contacting a guitar player or two so we can work out a few songs. When that does happen I'll have the Epic with me. I'll keep you informed.

Go for it, Sam. No pressure, just get out there and give it a try, have some fun. It'd be a shame to pass up such a curious coincidence.

Now THAT is good news Sam!
We'll be with you ...ALL 1142 of us!!!

1142 bottles banging on tables all at once! Excellent! Progress report: we now have one guitar player who also sings. No rehearsal but the line up is coming together.
No pressure Bob, in fact I'm getting excited about it. My wife says Well, isn't that why we bought all this stuff?.
A family owns both places. The dad and oldest son are drummers, the youngest son is a fantastic bass & guitar player. Good people.

That is cool Sam! If I could find an old Gibson EBO for a reasonable price, I'd be in your shoes
