Title: Senior Management & GAS?
Post by: bracheen on November 29, 2003, 05:46:39 PM
I think my wife's showing symptoms of GAS.  Last night we were at a restaurant that had some beautiful wood tables, very nicely grained.  I mentioned that it would make a nice bass and Debi admitted that for a brief second she thought the same thing.
What a woman!

I'm celebrating my 21st anniversary Monday with my wife, who has had her own bands and 'gets it' inasmuch as I don't have to explain GAS to her.

Thank God I didn't marry a 'civilian'!

Bracheen, you'd better kiss the ground she walks on, to quote an old soul music fave of mine.  Can't go wrong with a girl like that (or the Four Tops, either).

Hey Joey

Happy Anniversary!!!!  Which anniversary is it that you're supposed to exchange something made out of wood?  Is it the 5th?  If so, hmmmmm let's see, I bought my wife a house.....

Yeah Sam, that's a cool lady you've got there!!!

Peace,
Dino

Happy anniversary Joey.  21 years, WoW.

There's a wood anniversary??  Cool!  We had this deal, before I bought the Alembic I was actually in the market for a Warwick.  The deal was if I got a Thumb Bass then she gets a Lexus.  I tripped her up on that one.  Yeah, she's the best.

Happy anniversary Joey!
25 years ... that will be for me next year.
Do you use the feelers too to keep that marriage smooth and fast?

Careful now, this could get out of hand pretty fast...

(For the newer members, Joey has posted some great setup articles, which is where Paul TBO learned what feeler gauges are.)

Now that you mention it, ever notice how often Joey slips in a reference to the wonders of Alembic's adjustable nuts? And brass, no less - maybe he knows more than he's telling...

Well, 21st anniversary protocol, unbeknownst to me, required a new car for the formidable Mrs. Wilson.  I hate the notes, but I did make LOTS of brownie points, and it made my heart feel good to see her that happy.

Believe me, brass ANYTHING would not stand 21 years with her.  Maybe titanium, inconel, bomb-shelter concrete.... but I realize that SHE's lived with ME for that long, and I'm not easy.

I'm a very lucky man.  As a friend said, 'you married WAY above yourself!'.

Happy 21st anniversary!  I try to exchange wood with my wife on every anniversary, if not more often... ;-)  For my 40th birthday she bought me a 12-string bass.  The ones who know we need these things to live are few and far between, and worth spending money on.  A toast (and lots of respect) to you and yours!

I am approching a 21st anniversary as well - 21 years of being happily divorced.
I'm not trying to be synical, I'm just not convinced it is possible to stay with someone until you die.  At least I don't think I could do it.  Unless that person were to, say, buy me a new Spyder or Series II - That might go a long way...
