Leas' ways, *I* think it is!  Bears some clear West Coast influence.

Despite the eBay listing title, Heritage is more of a successor to/emulator of Gibson than Alembic.  They are a bunch of former Gibson builders, who started making Gibsonesque guitars in one of Gibson's old factories after Gibson was bought out by a profit-oriented eccentric.  They have since discontinued many of their products, which leads me to suspect they will not be around for very long. Too bad; from what I understand they were making better Gibsons than Gibson.

Yes, they're just finishing up a 23.5-scale solidbody for me.  They founded their company in '84 or '85.  Another bunch of hard-workin' American guitar builders!  God love 'em.

They build some really nice Gibson-esque (go figure!) archtops and other riffs on those styles of guitars.  They had about as much luck with basses as their previous employers, though.  Hope they hang in there, hate to see them go.

According to the Heritage website, the company was founded in 1985, by 5 Gibson employees  (4 builders who had been with Gibson since the 1950s, and an accountant who had been there for 10 years).  They decided to buy Gibson's Kalamazoo factory and start their own company rather than move to Nashville to work in Gibson's then-new factory.
