Title: ABB - Live at the Beacon Theater DVD
Post by: David Houck on February 02, 2004, 07:40:56 AM
I just picked up this DVD and it's wonderful.  From a bass perspective, Oteil Burbridge does not have an extended solo on the DVD, but his lines thoughout are great.  From a guitar perspective Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks are great as well, with lots of good video of their hands; especially Derek's unique right hand technique.  From the band perpective, the whole band is playing great and the improvisational jams are wonderful examples of ensemble playing.  Plus the video and sound are outstanding as well.  The concert is from March, 2003.  This is a great DVD of a great band.

I agree, it really is a fabulous performance by the Brothers. The only thing I found a little less positive about the DVD was the seriousness of the bandmembers throughout the performance. I like it when there's some smiles, little glances and jokes during or in between songs. But then again, it's some serious music they're playing!
