Obviously your Alembic isn't Zebrawood.

It's a running joke around here.  Zebrawood stinks rather badly when fresh.  The oder goes away, mine's 10 years old and smells fine. I think it was Susan who described it a smelling like a wet dog when it's cut.

Walnut is fast becoming my favorite along with Zebrawood for appearence.

zebra does look good!.....i didnt know that it smelled when freshly cut. but hey, 'the alembic aroma therapy' thing i think is brilliant!,,,,i mean lets face it, us musicians(some of us) can use a cover for that all too common smell that permeates most rehearsal rooms (need i say what that smell is?)
