Looks like Series I controls - two switches, not knobs. And quilt maple top, not flame...

It looks like a Series I and quilted maple to me also.  I sent the seller an email asking this question.

Reply from seller:
Hi! No it is a Series II Exploiter and the reason I know for sure is because I still have the receipt from when it was custom built for me and the pictures don't do it justice at all. Its flame maple. Thanks for the inquiry!

Hmm, well that is odd. I only see two purpleheart laminates, and those sure look like toggles. Is there a chance it could be a Series 2 but with S 1 electronics? I forget what S2 wood specs are.

As always, buyer beware!

Sure is a beaut, though.

nope!its a seriesI all the way, however it's listed as a s/II,but from what i can observe theres nothing II about this one. the five peice wood neck through is standard for s/Is.along w/toggles this one has no master. however my series I (#12)is all seriesI physically, but has series II guts,  & theres quite a few basses around with that set-up ,but nevertheless i love that bass too & looks like it came straight from john entwistle's bass line-up!

Guys,
yes, the bass is looking great but it is still a normal Exploiter body shape. The body shape of the Spyders come closer to the original body shape of Johns Spyders, but also not 100%.
On most of the Exploiters the lower horn is too thin and with a different angle than on Johns Spyders.......
But anyway a real great bass....

I sent him a message asking for the serial number to validate the data, or at least for him to provide it to Alembic directly.  I would assume that Mica or Val would post the specs of the bass here without the serial number if the seller gave them the number and asked that it be kept private, right?
