Since alot of discussion has gone into this, I thought I'd start things off with a pic of Rose, my Rogue 5, on her way to a gig. Y'all join in!

Alas, due to the need of hauling PA's and such, no sporty ride for me. A Grand Caravan with large subwoofer is my steed. It helps pay for my Alembic addiction.
Danno

Danno,
The vehicle of choice for me as well...Only I'm also married with family, so Mild-Mannered working dad by day, Bassist/Keyboardist by night

We have the obligatory Suburban (its in the CCRs for our community, I think!), but I got a Bam 210, since its usually just a stage monitor, and it fits on end in the front seat, my Alembic just fits across the back seat, and I don't need airbags because I'm wedged in! Do I need to use sunblock on my bass if I'm cruising with the top down?

811952 rides upright (in the hard case) in one of the back seats of a blue Honda Element. I can fit most other stuff in the Element if I take out the other back seat. Otherwise, most of my stuff rides in the drummer's trailer with the other amps and P.A. system.

My Alembics haven't learned to drive yet - well, they can drive a hellava groove - but they can sure get on the furniture!

The back seat of my Cadillac STS is where you'll find my Excel. That is when the dog isn't there!
-
I just bought another Jeep Cherokee, a 2001, just for the purpose of moving my gear. My entire rig & bass fit in the back, but with no room to spare.

I change cars every 90 days, but this is the coolest one I've had in a while. This picture was taken in October. The bass in the bed is not an Alembic, but I didn't wanna get left out of this thread, so use your imagination!! These pictures were taken as soon as I got home from picking up this bass at UPS and an hour before I gigged with it.

James, that's too cool!!!!!

WOW...Nice ride James...What is it? And what bass is that as well?

The Car: It's a 2004 Chevrolet SSR. 300 hp 5.3L V8 (think Corvette with a truck bed). That's a power operated convertible hardtop.
Here's a link to the webpage - http://www.chevrolet.com/ssr/ (http://www.chevrolet.com/ssr/)
The Bass: It's a fretless Hanewinckel 6 string. It's the 2nd one on the left.

James,
I always lay my basses on their faces when using gig bags, so as to take the pressure off of the headstock and neck. Nice basses and truck you've got there...

That's a beautiful collection, James! Cool car too BTW, but I'd prefer your basses...

Great collection James. The SSR was the pace car in last years Indy 500 and was the official track car for the race this year.I think you should shoot pics of those beautiful Alembic's in the bed of that cool ride.

I'd love to, but I no longer have the SSR. I get different cars assigned to my every 90 days. The SSR went back last December and I didn't have the foresight to snap any shots with the Alembics. Only reason I took the shot with the Hanewinckel was I had just picked it up the day I decided to snap pictures of the car.
Next cool car I get I'll snap Alembic pictures. That, or I'll find somebody who has an SSR assigned to them and trade for a day.
Peace,
James

Brother James,
now because I am definitely the dude around here with the biggest mouth (see postnumber LOL): explain me loads of gorgeous basses, a new car every 90 days, I know MAAM -you invented it anyway - but you need A LOT of MAAM to get all this together no?
So tell us the secret ...

for some days, but unfortunately I lost my job two weeks ago and I am really busy finding a new one. James, the SSR is really outstanding!!!

Actually, the two are sorta related. I work for a car company. A really big car company. At the level I'm at, I get assigned a car or truck every 90 days for evaluation purposes. Car or truck is assigned pretty much randomly, so I never know 'til I get to the fleet office what I'll be driving next. Because of this arrangement I don't have to spend money on car payments, car insurance, or gas, so that money can be directed towards......basses! And jewelry for the mrs and toys for the kids, etc, etc.
To make matters even more twisted, my wife works for a competing car company and has a similar arrangement.
Oliver - Best of luck with the job search.
Peace,
James
-
Uhhh,I want your job James.
-
oh ...uhuh ...the late Robert Palmer sung Some guys have all the luck...
But ...I DO am happy for you James!!! And for the mrs ...and kids ....

I was recruited by the General back in the late '90's for a management job in Reno, NV (for GM-SPO), but I turned it down. I did get a nice all-expenses paid vacation to Reno (incl. GM rental car, LOL!) for four days courtesy of the General in order to check the place out, though. LOL!

James,
We're in the same industry! I work with the Toyota/Lexus distributor for the SE. 20 years and counting. Of course I don't get a car every 90 days, more like every 9 years.

Hey Guys
Thanks for the props on the collection. Right now the only thing I would like to have is my new Alembic custom, I'm hoping another month or so and she will be home. Already thinking about two other customs for later. We will have to wait and see!
