Folks,
As promised, here is my new Pedulla MVP 4 in Amber Sunburst. Just got it today, and man, does it ever growl!
The neck is very thin, similar to a Rick 4001. Difference is that it is a two octave neck, and the body is much smaller. In fact, I'm truly impressed by the compactness of the design. Didn't notice it much when I test played a few examples, but you really get an appreciation for it after you've played it a while. I can see where it is great for small spaces. And it's relatively light, too.
Is it an Alembic? No way. It is still, however, a fine handcrafted instrument. Like I've said elsewhere, it is a bit looser than an Alembic, and sometimes that's what I prefer depending on the playing situation. On the other hand, I have a Spyder and a Europa. If I had to make a choice, the Europa would win, followed by the Spyder (extremely closely at that) and then the Pedulla. Not bad to be in the top three, I think, considering I own ten basses of various makes and models.
Anyway, thought I'd share some pics. Enjoy.

Hey Alan. Nothing like a new bass to make yer day! We all (most anyway) have non-Alembics that we love for this reason or that. Why wouldn't we? Congratulations on your new family member! Don't stay up too late now. I would . . .

Beautiful bass, Alan. I've always liked Pedullas of that design.

Sweet Bass. I've played Pedullas quite a few times and have always liked them as well.
Have fun with her.
