Title: Johns birthday on October 9th
Post by: senmen on October 08, 2004, 03:55:08 PM
Dear all,
today October 9th is John Entwistles birthday.
He would have turned 60 today.
Plse take some seconds and think about John.
I think he will see us all and will be very proud of us JE fans.

Thanks for reminding us, Oliver. During our busy lives, we forget things like that. He was a truly great man and an inspiration to many. He was a very underrated player that didn't get his proper due during his short time on the planet. Quiet One about sums it up, LOL!

Another John was also born on October 9, 1940.
John Lennon would have been 64.

Will you still feed me

I was bold (dumb) enough to introduce this same topic right in the main Alembic discussion area!

Thanks Johnny Twinkle.  And John Ono.  You changed us all for the better.

Mike/Oliver,

Had to whip out the Spyder today and play along with Boris the Spider, Happy Jack, Won't Get Fooled Again, Summertime Blues, and Pictures of Lily.  My way of showing tribute to the man and the bassist.  May he rest in peace.  I'm sure he's probably up in heaven making up one of the greatest rhythm sections ever with Keith.

Keith?  In heaven?  Bite your tongue!  Not in heaven, not in hell. They had to come up with a new place altogether for the likes of Moon!  (But I'm sure all the J's: John E., John L., Jimi, Jim, Janice, and Jerry, among others, get to hang out... - please, no one give Karen Carpenter the directions).

Bill, the guitar one

Good Man Alan!  Nice that you payed your respects by playing the music.  I did too.

Bill TGO is right - these guys are in a netherworld between, um,  Heaven and Hell.

Karen Carpenter did try to crash the gig until she got the call to be reincarnated as Meg White.
