Not to ask an inappropriate question, but couldn't Lado do these things if asked/prompted/paid to do so?

Yeah I'm sure they would.  I just like the way Alembic builds instruments: the right way the first time.  
Every other high end manufacturer should take the cue.  
Real quality is in the details.
