Title: Weight of 4-string Rogue?

There's an Alembic Rogue 4-string bass listed on Ebay.  The seller says it weighs in at 8.5 pounds on his (admittedly imprecise) bathroom scale.  Does this sound about right?  The woods used seem pretty standard.  
 
Since a recent shoulder injury, I'm particularly sensitive to how much instruments weigh.  Thanks to any 4-string Rogue players out there.

I have a flame maple top 4-string Rogue, and no way does it weigh 8.5 lbs (like my Sadowsky Standard Jazz).  I would say in the 10-11 lb ballpark, it's a heavy little beast

Thank you!  I appreciate your comment.  The 8.5 lb. weight seems too light to me as well.  The seller says that a 10 pound dumbbell registers exactly at 10 lbs. on his bathroom scale, and makes his 8.5 estimate on that basis.  
 
I don't think he's trying to mislead -- he offered to take the bass to a shipping store to get it weighed.  It's just that bathroom scales are far more precise in higher ranges, e.g., in measuring the difference between, say 125 pounds and 133 pounds.

Something that will have a rather enormous impact on weight is the backplate material.  Continuous wood/plastic are going to be *much* lighter than brass.  Something else to consider.

The little battery compartment plate is brass, and so is the much larger control plate.  Appreciate your observation.

I know from experience.  My Rogue 5 string has all brass backplates (main electronics, battery, LED batteries).  I've removed them all just to see how heavy they really are.  Uffda.  If I didn't have a strong back I'd be ordering plastic ones.

To work around the inaccuracy of bathroom scales at lower weights, weigh yourself first and then yourself holding the bass. The difference is the weight of the bass.

Yes, the weigh with, then without method usually does improve bathroom scale accuracy.  
 
I looked yet again at the JPEGs of the bass (seller discloses and shows small dings), then decided that if I'm going to pay that kind of money, I'd prefer a cleaner Rogue.
