Just found an amazing bass shop in Tokyo whilst browsing for images.
They have a string of beautiful Alembics in stock:
Like this Jimmy J Signature:

Hajime is a really nice guy and I believe he's currently the Alembic rep in Japan. I happened to see that series bass at the factory and almost choked! Next time I'm over there he better let me play it!

Hey, I recognize that wall! That's MY version of the bass. It looks like Hajime has an additional switch near the 1/4 jack. Does that mean I have to get that?

When this posting first popped up, it made me wonder whether Alembic had added a JimmyJ Signature model to the line.
Now, I'm wondering why Alembic hasn't *yet* added a JimmyJ Signature!
I never noticed the 3-on-the-bottom peghead before.

David,
I just tried going back thru the reference pages, to no avail.... But, IIRC, I remember seeing somewhere a serial # prefix which would designate a bass as being a JimmyJ model.

The subtitle for the page in Showcase lists JJ as a qualifying model designation, and there are threads on at least 3 of them there.
