Title: Fretting template for a 32"
Post by: lysosome on February 13, 2006, 07:20:43 PM
Hi. Does anyone know where I can buy a fretting template for a 32 scale bass? I've looked all over and I can find just about everything BUT a 32. Thanks in advance!

You can calculate the fret positions here (http://www.stewmac.com/FretCalculator).

Yeah, I considered that, but it's so much easier to use a template. If all else fails, I may try that on a piece of scrap wood to see how it turns out. It's just strange that I can find everything from a 30 to a 36, excluding 32. Ahh..

Thanks though

LMII used to sell a separate 32 template, but I don't see it anymore.  I think if you play with where you start and finish using their 34 template you can eek out a 32 scale.  The template has something like 30 fret position notches, if I remember correctly.  At any rate, I wouldn't hesitate to call or email them.  They're very helpful.
