For all the Dead-heads in the bunch. The biography channel has a special on Jerry tonight 03/21/06 at 8 central time. Might be cool!

I missed it! Was it any good? Will it be repeated? Anybody record it?

It was okay. Nothing too earth shattering. Interviews with Donna Jean, Barlow, Steve Parish, Tiff Garcia, Jerry's daughter, Theresa, I believe, and mostly footage from the eighties and nineties. It was kind of a slash and burn type of biography. Not much more one can expect in an hour.

It focused mostly on how magnetic, kind, and dynamic Jerry was as a person. Also, how insecure he was - his difficulty with family life - his drug use.

There wasn't a lot of information presented about his development as a musician - or about the music he wrote and performed. In fact, behind a few of the still photo sequences the music playing wasn't Garcia or the Dead, but rather, unrelated studio fill.

Jimi Hendrix tonight and Neil Young tomorrow - I expect similar treatment of these bios.
