Kings-X is superb live. It's been a few years since I've seen them. Dougs one of the best I've ever seen playing 8 & 12 strings basses. I have an 8 string Ibanez ( I've seen Doug play one just like it ), and can tell you it is a work out playing it.

D'Ug can liquify your innards with the massive low freqs. generated by his HEAVILY de-tuned bass licks.

FWIW, the show was, as usual, excellent. D'Ug pulled-out his 8-string Yamaha (no more Hamer's...he has a Yamaha endorsement deal, as does Ty) for "Summerland".

FWIW, Ty's signature tone was mostly still there, but the switch from his signature Strat-like RGXTT (Ty Tabor Model) to the Les Paul-esque AES920 was not a step in the right directiom IMHO. The difference was clearly audible during the intro to Summerland (from Gretchen Goes To Nebraska, their finest ever, IMHO). His RGX signature was closer in tone to his infamous Strat Elite/LAB Series (pre-amp) sound. On clean stuff like this, the new AES was sorely lacking. On the dirty stuff, he still sounded good.
GO BACK TO SINGLE COILS, TY!!!
d'Ug's massive Ampeg sound was still there in spades.
