Title: Alembic preamp
Post by: lysosome on June 04, 2006, 10:05:14 PM
Just wondering, has Alembic ever made any preamps, other than the  F-1X and the F-2B?

If not, what would be a good, but old(er) preamp to look into? I like a good preamp as much as the next bassist, but I'd prefer to get something that has some years under it's belt.

Thanks everyone.

The Eden Navigator and Ampegs SVP-pro are both very good and have been around long enough to have many fans.

The F-2B has been around for 35 years, virtually unchanged, and the F-1x, which was introduced in the early 90s is basically the mono version of that; I'd say the F-2B definitely qualifies as something that has some years under its belt.

I'd add that they are both regularly available used for around the $450 mark, so what're waiting for? LOL! J/K

Cheers,
