Does anyone remember which of these CE-2's was supposed to be the best?
Green Label MIJ
Green Label MIT
Black Label MIJ

By sheer coincidence I've been trying out a borrowed CEB-3 and I'm seriously underwhelmed. So much so that I'm ordering an EBS Unichorus. Not much help for you I'm afraid Jonathan ;-)

Graeme - if you haven't already ordered I strongly suggest you try out the TC Electronics SCF. I have both it and the EBS and I much prefer the TC.

Well, I have a green label MIJ, but haven't used it in most of five years. You can have it for whatever the fair market value is if it turns out to be the one you're looking for.
From a quick look at eBay, it might be that the black label is #1 followed by the green MIJ, at least in terms of selling price. There aren't enough there to make a conclusive statement, though.

My memory was leaning towards the black label.

You might find this (http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Effects/product/Devils+FX/CE-2+Mod/10/1) interesting.
And here (http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Effects/product/Boss/CE-2+Chorus/100/1) are the Harmony Central reviews of the CE-2.

Thanks, Dave.

I love CE2's, and if you can find one that's not so elderly, the old grey crackle finish CE1 is an instant time machine for that sound.
BUT . . . for me, the TC SCF is just better. A classic in its own way.
