hey before I forget
lets take a moment......
remember the people less fortunate than us...
do something nice for a stranger.......
give a homeless person some loose change.....
say hello to people as you walk by them...
I want to wish all my friends at alembic and ALL the great people i have met in this website over the past 2 years the happiest of holidays. We have a bond that goes way beyond the limits of a website. Its not about the instruments we play, its about who we are inside. We are truly a global community tied together by a common thread..... MUSIC
Peace

Do something nice for a stranger
Last week my mother-in-law was looking at Christmas trees on a lot. She said that she was mumbling out loud about how expensive they are. She decided to not buy a tree this year and was walking to her car. Some people walked up to her and asked if she wanted the tree she had been looking at. She said No. Go ahead and take it, but thanks for asking. They said, We don't want it. We were going to buy it for you if you want it. She said, That's very nice of you, thank you. I don't think I know you, do I? They said, No. We just thought it would be nice to buy you the tree for Christmas. She accepted the gift, had it delivered and set up, and is enjoying it in her living room.
It's really nice to see that this sort of thing still happens occasionally.
Thanks for the thread, Flax. Happy holidays to you, yours, and all.

Jon Carroll is a columnist for the S.F. Chronicle. He has been one of my favorites for years. Each year around this time he writes about a charity he has sort of started called The Untied Way, (no, I'm not a dysleptic typist, that's the name!), that I look forward to every year. Here is a brief part of his description:
The Untied Way is a nontraditional charity. It has no officers, no headquarters, no brochures, no regional offices and no guidelines. It is not a tax-deductible organization because it is not an organization at all. It issues no receipts, nor do letters come in the mail thanking you for your generous contribution.
You can read the rest here. It is well worth it. Enjoy:

Happy holidays everyone.
Hope things are well and you stay safe.
The holiday traffic is nuts! Everyone in a hurry.
Great stories.
I just finished helping our church custodian move and set up two 18 footers in the church.
I'm drenched, I'm gonna sit and drink my hot toddy now! Luckily decorating isn't til Saturday.

Season's Greetings to all of you (even the lurkers). The men and women of Alembic, and the men and women (and boys and girls) of the club, all make this site something unique on The Internets. You all enlighten, entertain and inform me, and I really feel blessed that you all let me be a part of it. It's pretty cool.
