There's a good chance that we'll be making DS-5 (small) power supplies again. The target date is March. I don't know the price yet, but a pre-order price will be offered so early adopters will get a special deal.
If you would like an email when these are available for pre-ordering, just email me with DS-5 Announcement in the subject line and I'll email you once or twice with details as they are available.

Hello Mica
email sent
Thanks ,
Wolf.

Wow, I got a lot more interest than I anticipated. I'm going to see if I can't step this project up on the schedule. The first run could be ready before the end of the year provided I can get the enclosures in quickly.
Will keep everyone posted here if there's any small announcements, but I will email each person that signed up when I have a completion date I feel good about and once again when we're ready to ship.
Fun!

Hi Mica,
Any electrical update for NEW DS-5 ?
Or IN-2 reproduction news ?

I would also be interested in the IN-2 !

Is the ETA still March 2010?
-
Yes, it's still looking good - it could stretch into April though.
-
I'm sure it's basic, but can someone tell me how this DS5 power supply works?
I just read that some early 80's model Alembic's came with LED's and this supply activates them, so I'm anxious to see if my instrument is equipped.
-
Do you have little shallow holes in the side of your fretboard where the side position markers should be, instead of said markers? It is pretty easy to tell on the old basses if you have LEDs or not. If you have markers, then you don't.
-
It appears I have markers but they are quite small and hard to see (especially in a performance setting).
Thanks for the tip

Dennis, I had the same issue w/one of mine. Mica's response was:
I don't have an exact record of the date, but the side dots have been inlaid aluminum for at least 12 years. Prior to that (and still on special request) they were bronze. Since the edge of the fingerboard is not finished, you can use either a fine sandpaper or the extrafine sctochbrite and remove the surface tarnish. Then a drop of lemon oil on the edge of the fingerboard will restore the Ebony's dark color.

Mica, As discussed recently, I will take a couple of the small DS-5 PSU's but with 240/250Volt 50Hz transformers for APAC (Australia,HK,SNG) use instead of the 110V US centric units. Thanks.

Any news on the DS-5?
-
I'm kinda interested too.
-
Me too .

I'm still working on it! At first I was going to use a new off the shelf enclosure, but they are not as off the shelf as promoted by the manufacturer as evidenced by a lack of extruded aluminum cases here.
I sent copies of the original DS5 plans out to get some quotes to have a replica made (with a few changes, like a modular line cord). I will update when I get the details back about delivery.

Make one with an IEC C-15 cable (is that what you mean by modular line cord, like your preamps use?) and I want one. For real.
