Title: A chance to own Stanley's Black Beauty
Post by: jacko on May 08, 2007, 07:53:01 AM
Spotted on the spellbinder (http://www.spellbindercorp.com/index1.html) website that Stanley will be auctioning off the bass he's seen holding on the cover of 'I wanna play for you'. According to the blurb it's the first ever use of a graphite neck in a bass. plus it has a bigsby tremoloe. A portion of proceeds to benefit the Stanley Clarke Foundation and Scholarship Fund
As an aside, Stanley is lending his name to the new Spellbinder BII. (the original can be seen on the cover of time exposure and the first clarke/duke project album.

The action price on this bass is currently at 140,000.00. However,as the agency told me, it still fall short to the reserve which Mr.Clarke set prior to the action...Anyone have the deep pocket can go for it...it looks amazing
