I predict in less than 10 years, only us old-timers will know how to tune a guitar or bass.

Having typed that, can you imagine the possibilities of having your tuning on a midi channel for mid-song or mid-solo changes?  The really difficult steel guitar licks?  Neat-o.

Of course, when you completely blow the solo section of your trademark song of the night, you could always blame it on bad programming or a virus..  >:P

I think that people should only get to use one of those once they are able to tune a guitar themselves.

I'd rather have my helper Monkey tune Further up for me ;)

Gimmicks..they never last..fender stills sells strats, gibson still sells Les Pauls and Alembic goes on forever
Anyway look at the anticipation of putting on new strings and tuning up to hear that clangy clavinet sound again after the old set has more sweat on them than a WWF contender

I wonder how much weight it adds. I also think that part of putting on a great show is the ability to tune ones instrument, especially if the instrument is an Alembic.
