Holy S*!!!! What electronics/controls are in that thing????
Could someone please tell me what the third knob down on the right next to that switch does?
Greg
ps. I hate April fools day....

we are .... the april 01 !!!!!!!
Lol....
-
no knobby peghead on this one??
-
Because I'm sure many of you will count it, I'll save you some time:
30 Knobs (including the one hidden on the back of the headstock), 16 Switches and 1 Pickup Selector.
And here I am, still adjusting to the 4 knobs, 2 switches on my Signature Deluxe...
Greg
-
wake up folks, I forgot my fish....
-
knob on wood!!
-
I love the Balance control, must have one on my Elan (http://club.alembic.com/Images/393/78270.gif)
-
I think that's the damping factor for the fourth superfilter...oh wait you said third from the top,
hmmmm...I have no idea, maybe a master volume for the lead guitar?
-
Greg - the third knob down on the right next to that switch flips the 3rd harmonic's disparity, for a fuller overdrive tone.
-
Fascinating ,
I sincerely request a control function diagram .
( seriously )
Sonic Regards!
-
But would it be better if another knob controlled the master volume on the superfilter so to allow the signal from the pickup to clear the path for the treble boost?
Greg
-
would be nice if all these knobs were master volumes for the other band members... especially guitar players :-P
-
Forget my last post, I just realized that thats exactly what the 5th knob down above the second one on the left does...
Greg
-
oh my...... wooooooooow..... holy $h!+..... and whatever terms of shock you can use!!!!!

-
I love knob 24 function!!! If you have two seconds, check my picture in my profile...
You guys at Alembic are really cool! :-) You made my day!!!
Xtof
-
Christophe; don't forget that you can use knob 24 in conjunction with switch 43.
-
# 35 is the one I need on my future custom....
LOL
Greg
-
Another beautiful creation handed down from a cloud with a big hand . Awesome. There is clearly some serious Alchemy going on !
I love it __________
-
Could we get a Photoshop rendering of this with the Mona Lisa???
-
Mica, you could you have forgotten to include the Instant Flanger that Stanley used on his alembic for the Romantic Warrior Album?
I have to confess I did look up the town on google before I realised it was an april fools joke but then, April fool finishes for us here in the UK at Midday.

I've often needed a 'Reassign other switches switch',will this be available seperately? :o)
-
And only ONE output jack??,what's with that????.
-
Actually, the output connector is our extended duty tip ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring ring spare spare spare spare spare sleeve. The spares are to handle an external footpedal that reassigns the knobs randomly for improvisation.
-
I like what I'm hearing!.
-
Oh yes, that's right , that is the pedal that has midi interfaced bio-metric sensors via one of the new Alembic fiber optic interconnects.
That's most definitely a feature I will try to opt for when we discuss my New Custom. along with the biometriclly controlled sliding pick up design.
Yes !!!!!!
-
Mica, thank you...we had a good laugh here at the house with all the knob functions. You guys are the best!
-
Damn ... and here I thought it would be my custom Series II ... ;-)
Good one, guys.
Alan
-
Yeah, but does it come in black?
-
how many of those knobs are functional? what does the hair growth knob do? Obviously some have to work, are some pure novelty, or do they perform
-
Yes, with a slightly different control layout:

-
Ive defiantly had an Alembic make my hair grow before.
-
Ahh.... the simple bass!
Although I was hoping for a 12 volt accessory outlet, so I could light my cigarettes without calling on a waitress, and perhaps a semaphore signaling circuit to tell the soundman to adjust the bass in the mix.

Lol. April fools.......
-
For me 15 is a must. But if George Carlin was ordering this I think He would want a lot of 1 and 3, as for the rest of the 7 things you can't play on the radio, I'm guessing 24, 17,32, 35, and the ever popular, 33. Just cause' it sound cool.
Nick

48/ nespresso
49/ reverse all functions from 1-47
50/ close the house's main door
-
I really think that bass was made for BBC Top Gear's tame racing driver The Stig..
Some say he is able to smell the change in the magnetic field of a series bass after a string has been plucked and tell you what the laminates are in the body, and that he can thumb slap the flight of the bumblebee in Bminor on a 4 string bass without hammering on whilst stammering the lyrics of my generation by the Who..!!!
It's for The STIG!!!!

Looks killer in black. Is there a Siruis receiver in there too so you can play along?
-
The Stig is also known for his eclectic soundscape preferences during his test runs - language courses, sounds of nature, early 1970s disco. Any suggestions?
-
Another wonderful feature of this instrument. Each knob is fully adjustable to 11!!!!
Bill, tgo

Gotta love the Ultralight Upgrade option for the April custom! LOL!

Do you think I could get one with a kill switch? I'm not seeing a kill switch. I'm also not seeing the suck knob we previously described in the club. I'll be needing that, so I can turn it down.
Why won't anyone ever come up with electronics that fully meet my needs!!!!
-
Where's the turbo boost gauge???? Huh??? Trying to keep the product to a price point?
(Message edited by Benson_Murrensun on April 02, 2010)

Awesome!
And one year from now, I hope to see the first Series 3 where you can control a full spectrum of tones from classic to modern with just one God knob!
Cheers,
David Fung
-
Wow, I could use one of those buttons:
15- singer mute
16- drummer tempo
17- coolness factor
-
Oh, come on--no Talent knob? Just for that, I'm not ordering one.
-
It DOES go to 20, doesn't it, Nigel? Bloody shame if it doesn't. ROTFLMAO!!
-
xlrogue6 - I'm thinking a talent boost switch - used for playing notes other than 1/4/5 on beats other than 1 and 3.
Loch
-
How about a master-tuner knob -- lets me tune my bandmates' guitars....
-
haha,
awesome!
but what i'd like to know is which ones actually work and what they do? Also, what's the price of this baby?
-
Hi Tobias; welcome to the board!
-
Actually the black bass in this picture sure looks like this months custom of the month, but doctored to make the April Fools joke.
