Hi folks, Im stuck at the moment with a pc itunes problem so thought I would try the community right here at the club!
My old desktop literally blew up two weeks ago and proved to be unfixable! My pc repair guy managed to retrieve my itunes library (not extensive but 1100 tasteful songs that I had purchased - many of which from itunes) and put it all onto two dvd discs.
I have today recieved my new desktop pc and have downloaded itunes once more......my problem? How on earth do I manage to import my library from the dvd discs onto my pc then subsequently into my new itunes library??????
As many here will know I am a complete buffoon with technology so this one has me really confused!
Help!!!!!
John.

I experienced something similar. What I did was copy the music from my DVDs into a folder on my desktop. Once all of the music had copied, I start iTunes and asked it to ADD FOLDER, and pointed the explorer window to the folder that I had created on my desktop. In my case it was in excess of 8,000 tunes and it worked for me.
Good luck John

John,
Insert a DVD, start itunes, open the file menu, select import and then select the DVD.

Grateful,
thanks but I think I must be going nuts here as when I open the file menu there is no import option! Im on version 8.2 of itunes - is that the same version as you are using??
John.

Sorry John, I'm running on a Mac so perhaps that option isn't available on a PC.
You should be able to drag and drop them on a PC.
Start itunes, insert the DVD, double click (to open) the DVD icon when it appears. This should give you a list of the tracks on the DVD. Select them all and drag them into itunes.

John,
On my iTunes I see import on the File menu pull down. Try using CTL+Shift_O (the letter O). This should pop up the import window. From there you should be able to point the Look In: line to your CD/DVD.
