Well it's that time of the year again. The twice-a-year World Guitar Show camps out in San Rafael this weekend. Anybody planning to attend?

Whadya get...whadya get...whadya get...?

A Tribute. I'm going back to pick it up tomorrow as I didn't have all the cash in my pocket. It's quite a deal, but I don't want to jinx it until I have it in my hands.

Wow! I hope the deal goes through.

And I thought my wife was understanding and supportive...

Not yet, but I am sitting in a room full of boxes and it's in one of them! I hope to find it this weekend. Then all I have to do is find the docking station so I can upload and I'll be in business. I can report to all that playing music is definitely more fun that moving all your stuff!

Of course you know we want to see the new Hyak, too, right?
Peter

Thanks for reminding me, Peter. I almost forgot about the Hyak.
-
I want to see the Hyak too. I'm still trying to get mine back from the guy who took it.
-
The camera has been found! It is currently sitting in the dock at home charging. I won't be able to take pics tonight as I'm going to see Phish (for the first time). Pics of both should be posted by this weekend.

Bill,
If you have a minute to add a review of the show, I would be curious to see what a longtime Deadhead's take on Phish is. Not looking to start any debates here, I like both bands, but have never seen Phish. Have a great show.
Regards,
Pete

I saw around 75 Phish shows between 1996-2001. Compared to the Grateful Dead they were/are a little kids birthday party. Musically, their jams are great. Lyrically they are sub par. I quit seeing shows because the drugs for many fans were more important than any kind of music or community. I would love to see them again on this comeback tour, as the music they have been playing has been pretty good.

O.K., here's a couple of quick pics of the two newest family members. The lighting wasn't very good and these are the only ones worth posting, but you all get the idea. Bill, tgo

Very nice and a sweet buy...such a fine looking instrument. Just curious, did they ask $4500 or did they come down a bit?
-
It was on consignment. The asking price was $4995 (which itself blew me away when I first saw it at the show). When I plugged it in there was no sound. I opened up the back and found a battery, but no battery clip! The seller contacted the owner who said he had removed the clip as he was powering the guitar with phantom power through the effects loop. Everything looked o.k. otherwise. I explained that I was buying a pig-in-a-poke as I had no assurance the electronics worked and asked if he might come down on the price. He came back with $4500 and I jumped on it. I subsequently spoke with Mica and she remembered when the original owner called her up and got the info on how to power it this way. I'll be bringing it up to the mothership soon to have everything put back to normal. I beieve this is the 8th Tribute made. Notice the lack of a separate battery cover - the battery fits in the main electronics cavity.
