Title: Pre-amp mod
Post by: funkyjazzjunky on September 04, 2009, 10:58:19 AM
Has anyone here modified their Alembic pre-amp to power their bass?  I hate relying on batteries and do not own a Series bass.

Okay this power supply v  batteries needs more input SO fo the record I have been using re chargable 9V ones.
My MK93 has got SIMS Led's which run off the same battery and this is what happens..the led's begin to go dull which is a great indicator of the battery needs changing.
Now a few have said that re chargable are not as good as Alkalines but I bought the highest quality(?12 per unit..approx $10) and they hold there charge very efficiently.
I use a wireless system so external power is not an option.
I am pleased with the rechargeables and I save the enviroment as they can be recharged over 1000 times.

Do you notice a drop in capacity over time?

The one I bought are form BatteryForce, An-Mann, german make so well engineered., the Led's in the neck show they need changing which is a good indicator although the bass never got to that 'battery is dead' fuzztone.
I also use them in my wireless set up.
My calculation were wrong ?12 is about 20 dollars!!
