Is this in for a refinish? I don't think the disposable foam sanding blocks existed back in 1978! It also looks like there's finish in the pickup cavities, which wouldn't have been there back when it was born.

Hi David! Yes this shot if from a few years ago when Edwin Hurwitz put the bass in for some much needed repair and love. I really like the shot.

I really loved this bass, but when I got it in 1992, it had been put through the wringer and the finish was a complete mess. The tailpiece was also really funky, with some kind of peeling finish on it. I also really love omega cuts and didn't like the point. So, I sent it back home and got it all nicely done up. Then got hit with a slew of medical and other bills (some of which were related to the weight and length of scale of the bass, which was crushing my shoulder and ribs). I do miss it some, I was listening to a recording of it just yesterday. It has a really great depth with just the right amount of clarity. However, I'm really glad it's in such loving and capable hands!
Happy birthday!

David; it's this bass (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=8399). Pretty cool omega conversion.
