Title: Musitronics Mutron III power supply question...
Post by: jx2638 on October 08, 2009, 08:49:02 PM
Is it possible to effectively power a Mutron III with two 9 volt leads running directly from the power supply on my pedalboard to the two internal 9 volt battery connectors...instead of using a 3 pin PS-1 power supply?

That's a great question - I would also like to know if anyone has successfully done this. When I acquired my Mutron III it had no power supply and it eats batteries like a pig. I was able to purchase a PS-1 power supply from  Lingenberg Sound (http://www.lsound.com/Products.htm#PS target=_blank).

As long as the milliamp rating matches up to the pedal..I would guess at 300mA for most pedals.

The out jacks on the power supply are all 9 volt x .25A. There are also three 18 volt x .35A out jacks.
Familiar with after market PS-1's (CAE too) but wondered if you could save the $70 by going battery compartment route.
