Any one own one or had a play of one?
-
The bass with the door knocker lion head, and multitude of pickups...
In all honest, I wouldn't be caught holding such a ugly bass.
-
Good beer.
Oh, sorry....

Here are some clips of Stanley Playing one Live.
Stanley Clarke (http://video.google.com/videosearch?client=safari&rls=en&q=lowenherz+bass&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=OpXuSriTBYGRjAeLm6SsDQ&sa=X&oi=video_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CBcQqwQwAw#)
Clearly not his usual tone.

i also Knoticed he keeps Tweeking knobs in search of that fat 'Alembic Fullbodied tone!'
-
He's a knob tweaker anyway Keavin. When I've seen him live and on TV/DVD, he spends half the night tweaking.

You can get arrested for knob tweaking as many a famous pop singer knows..'Zip me up before you go go'
Mind you I bet most of us would know it was Stan just by the technique and phrasing even if we just heard the sound only and not seen the video.
-
That video was funny as heck...
Stanley puts the bass down so fast, it was as if he was going to collect his money for playing it, and with a look, of being done with it...
Ok, I did what you wanted, now it's my turn - where's my doe you owe me...
-
When he brought that hideous bass to the DC area, he used it for one song then went back to his Alembic.
-
It happen with old age... Stanley is getting up in age... His hearing is dissolving...

His hearing is dissolving
