I'm wondering if this is something that Peter (cozmik cowboy) would be qualified for. He describes himself as an archivist who is unemployed with a graduate degree. The job qualifications (http://library.ucsc.edu/about/jobs/archivist-for-the-grateful-dead-archive) include a master's degree from an ALA-accredited program or accredited graduate archives management program. Maybe if Peter gets the job we can split the finder's fee.

Yes, that would be me. Actually, the finder's fee would go to my thesis advisor, who sent the posting for this job, thinking it to be a perfect fit (my degree is in history, but I have coursework & several years experience in archives - & I'd take the fee out of doing sound for her band). I'm writing the cover letter now; of course, there's the small fact that the lovely & charming Mrs. Cowboy has a good job in Illinois. We'll see what happens (no. 1 son moved to Sacramento this year, which might make it easier to move her.)

Did you see the Daily Show's take on the job position (http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-november-11-2009/want-ads---grateful-dead-archivist target=_blank)? (sorry for the advertisement at the beginning...)
If you don't have thick skin, either as a fan of the Dead or as an archivist, then maybe you shouldn't watch, but I think it's in good fun.

Missed that, Harry - as an archivist, a Deadhead, & a Daily Show fan, I loved it! (And hope it discourages some people from applying)

I hope you are able to get the job Peter.

No hijack...but did you see Colbert's bit on George Clinton and Funkadelic a couple of days ago?
